t PROFESSIONAL CONTESTS,

The Auckland Boxing Association will open its season next Monday evening, when n professional welter-weight bout of 15 rounds will be staged between jack McMahon, of Palmerston North, and Neville Mudgway, of Waihi, at the Auckland . Town Hall. The contest promises to be a particularly attractive one. A fine amateur programme will also be held, including a special bout between Percy Kelly, the Auckland featherweight champion, and Ken Moran, of Dargaville, bantam-weight title-holder.

ANOTHER WIN FOR PALMER,

(Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. At Sydney Stadium last night, in a fifteen rounds boxing bout, Ambrose Palmer (12.8) technically knocked put the American Johnny Miler (12.10) in the eighth round. Palmer was vastly superior. Miler's right eye was closed in the fifth round, after which he was heavily handicapped, and he signified that he had had enough in the eighth.
