PERSONAL.

Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P. for the Bay of Plenty, left for Wliakatane this morning.

Mr. P. Hally, conciliation commissioner, returned to Auckland yesterday from Wellington.

Capt. L. Vauglian Morgan, second naval member of the Naval Board, arrived from Wellington yesterday.

'ilr. .T. A. Leo, under-secretary to the Prime Minister, will leave for the south this evening by the Limited express.

The Rt. Hon. J. Ct. Coates, M.P., and Mrs. Coates, who have been visiting Auckland, returned to Dargaville yesterday. - t Mr. A. J. Woods, M.A., headmaster of the Upper Hutt School, has been appointed inspector of schools in the Nelson education district.

Sir. R. H. Nesbitt, Australian Trade Commissioner, who has been visiting Kawau Island, has now returned to Auckland and is at the Grand Hotel.

The Hon. P. Fraser, Minister of Education, visited Cambridge during the week-end for the opening of St. Peter's School. He has now returned to Wellington.

Mr. L. K. Munro has been elected president, Mr. .H. M. Rogerson vicepresident and Mr. W. H. Cocker treasurer of the Auckland District Law Society. The Rev. W. V. Milne and Mrs. Milne, of the New Zealand Presbyterian Mission at Nguna, New Hebrides, arrived from the South yesterday. They are oil a short furlough n the Dominion. Mr. C. J. B. Norwood, of Wellington, managing director of Dominion Motors, Ltd.. and Mrs. Norwood are at the Grand Hotel, where they will await the arrival of Lord Nuffield, who is expected to reach New Zealand early in March.

The Rev. George Jackson, minister of the Green Lane Congregational Church, left for Dunedin this morning to attend the annual assembly of the Congregational Union. His place will be taken for the next three weeks by the Rev. L. 0. Ilanton.

The Rev. Dr. H, Ranston was reappointed principal of tho Methodist Theological College at Auckland for a further period of six years by the recent Methodist Conference at Christchurch. The Rev. W. T. Blight has also been re-appointed as resident tutor for six vears.
