NECK DISLOCATED.

STRUCK BY A BOOM.

NEW PLYMOUTH, this day.

A dislocated neck was suffered by Mr. Joseph Hey, of Auroa, when he was struck on the head with the falling boom of an ensilage stacker. He was taken to the Hawera Hospital last night in a serious condition.

Mr. Hey, his son and an: employee were finishing a stack by placing earth on its top when pegs holding the stacker in position were dislodged and the heavy boom crashed down on Mr. Hey's head. He was taken to hospital, where it was found that his neck and spine were injured. Both his legs are paralysed. Mr. Hey was formerly in business at Hawera.
