CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
OFFICERS AT WHANGAREI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The annual meeting of the Whangarei Chamber of Commerce was held last night. Prior to the business meeting a dinner was held in the Commercial Cafe, there.being a good attendance. Mr. C. V. Stringer expressed the congratulation of the chamber to Mr. J. G. Barclay upon his election as M.P. for Marsden. Mr. Barclay was a member of the chamber and had always been of the greatest assistance. He could assure Mr. Barclay thj\t the chamber would do all it could to help him in any way possible. Any request that the chamber might make to Mr. Barclay would be made in a reasonable manner.
The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. H. Menzies; vice-presi-dent, Mr. J. D. Mitchell; committee, Messrs. C. V. Stringer, P. Basley, J. G. Barclay, A. Cope, N". Drummond, A. Franks. Pankhurst, Barnaby, W. U. Timewell. Parkin, L. C. Trembath, J. Tudehope, Wvlliej auditor, Mr. J. D. Mitchell.
