NORTH AUCKLAND POWER.

SITE FOR SUB-STATION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. It is stated that the Government has secured a site for a sub-station for the main power point ■ near Paparoa. An area of about four acres lias been secured from Mr. Norman Wilson at the junction of the- Wairere and Mareretu Roads, about three miles cast from Paparoa. From this point the North Auckland Electric Power Board will take its supply of power for the southern and western portions of their area.

The building to be erected at the substation will be quite a substantial one. It will house the metering equipment of the Government and also the check meters of the Power Board. A number of men will find; employment in the erection of the sub-station and. its equipment. In addition, there will be several permanent employees.
