APPLICATION OPPOSED.
SERVICE TO WHANGAPARAOA.
An application by Mr. E. M. Henry, Arkle's Eay, for a goods service license, with the right to carry passengers, from Auckland to Whangaparaoa, was again before the No. 2 Licensing Authority to-day. '*■ it A number of • Wade River settlers wrote opposing the application, and Mr. R. W. Stanley appeared in person againstrit, on the ground that it would endanger the launch service. Whangaparaoa residents also wrote asking that no action be taken which would interfere with the launch service. Decision was again deferred pending the possible sale and extension of another motor service. The chairman, ,Mr. J. A. C. Allum,' said the authority hoped to give its decision at the beginning of next week.
