(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Wednesday. In a tennis match played between Mairtown and Maungatapere at the Mairtown Club's courts, the Mairtown Club won by 166 games to 101 and by 14 sets to 4. The Whangarel Swimming Club held the first club night of the season at the school Imths last evening. Owing to the cold weather the season was delayed considerably. Dust night there were good fields and some very close finishes. Results :— Men's 66 2-3 Yards Handicap.—W. Morris, scr. 1; B. Belcher, Is, 2; J. Conway, Is, 3.

Girls' 33 1-3 Yards Handicap.—P. Johnson, scr, 1; P. Simons, 4s, 2; P. Ward 18, 3.

Boys' 33 1-3 Yards Handicap.—R. Dennis. 2s, 1; E. Stockwell, 6s, 2; Crimp, scr, 3.
