YOUTH FOR TRIAL.
MURDER MYSTERY INQUEST. SYDNEY, November 19. At the inquest on Mr. Montague Hemvood, whose body was found on the railway line 51 miles west of Sydney, the coroner found that death was due to injuries inflicted by Edward John Hickey, aged 17, who was committed for trial on a charge of murder No application was made for bail. Detective-Sergeant McEae tendered a statement alleged to have been made by Hickej, according to which Hickey said Mr. Henwood "got very irritable, throwing things at me and throwing me about the carriage. I lost my temper and seeing a water bottle on the floor, I picked it tip and hit him as hard as I could on the head. He at once fell to the floor, and I then went through his pockets." SYDNEY MURDER TRIAL. ONE PRISONER IDENTIFIED. SYDNEY, November 19. The trial was continued to-day of John Patrick Strong and Albert StannaVd, who are charged with murdering Mr. Reginald Holmes, boatbuilder, who was found shot in his motor-car near the Sydney Harbour Bridge on June 12. Oliver Summers said he heard shots on the night of the crime. Later he saw a man whom he had identified as Stannard in the vicinity. The jury retired to inspect the places mentioned in the evidence and the hearing was adjourned until to-morrow.
