FLOWERS IN TAKAPUNA.
■ » With the object of promoting interest in horticulture in Takapuna, a successful flower show was held in the Parish Hall recently, arranged by a committee of horticulturists under the presidency of Mr. J. C. Lewie, with Mr. Geo. Lisk as honorary secretary. So keen was the competition in the classes that the hall proved inadequate for the exhibits, which were cramped for space. The show was opened by the Mayor, Mr. J. Guiniven. The judges were Mr. John Collins and Mr. Geo. Mills, and the Hon. E. W. Alison distributed the prizes. Aβ an outcome or tne snow it is proposed shortly to form a horticultural society in Takapuna.
