NOISY BUT NOT NASTY.
MR. O. E. CLARKE'S CAMPAIGN. By the exercise of much restraint and good humour, through many interruptions, as well as much lung-power at other times to make his statement of policy audible above the din of interrupters, Mr. Clifton E. Clarke, National Government candidate for Eden, last night managed to make his position clear to a crowded attendance at, the Jubilee Hall, Kingsland. 'By occasionally seizing on points raised by interrupters and turning them to account, and showing judgment at difficult moments, the candidate retained the good will of the meeting. A vote of thanks and confidence was countered with "Three cheers for Labour" from the back of the hall. Asked how he would vote if B stations were made a no-confidence issue, Mr. Clarke replied promptly that such a situation was most unlikely, but he would put the good of the country as a whole above the claims of B stations, »nd would t *e with the Government,
