FINANCE MINISTER.

ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND. SOCIAL FUNCTIONS ARRANGED.

The Minister of Finance and co-leader of the Coalition Government, Mr. Coates, arrived in Auckland shortly after one o'clock this afternoon after his election campaign tour of the Kaipara electorate. He is at the Grand Hotel.

Ihis afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Coates attended a garden party 'in their honour, tendered by Sir George and Lady Wilson, at tlieir home in Upland Road, Remuera. This evening Mr. Coates is to be made a presentation by young Auckland business men, and later he will attend a social evening and dance in his honour in Milne and Choyce's reception hall.

Mr. Coates will leave by the Limited express to-morrow night for Wellington.
