PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the committeo of tho Plunket Society was presided over by the president, Mrs. J. C. Allan. Tlio following members were present: Mesdames Bruce Mackenzie, L. J. Shrubsall, R. P. Towle, E. J. Cronin, R. G. Milligan, L. C. Dawson, E. J. Wilkinson, D. Poison, W. H. Parkes, H. R. Kirker, K. B. Myers, R. Coleman, S. Kenrick, A. C. Paterson, G. M. Fowlds,, T. T. Woodhead, W. H. Worrall, H. A. Cooper, R. B. Cruiekshank, T. Russell, J. M. McLaclilan, P. Hudson, A. St. C. Brown, Mother Hannah, Mesdames R. W. Bissett and J. E. Cowell (Onehunga), E. G. Whitley (Devftnport), A. Campbell (Kortheotc), T. H. Cordock, E. Spring (Ellerslie), J. Mclvor and W. T. Nield (Qtahuhu). The district report showed that the nurses had had a very busy month, 205 babies had been seen for the first time, 1082 visits, had been paid to homes, and there had been 7790 visitors to the various offices. Nurses E. M. Walbran and M. S. Carmicliael are .at present taking a refresher course at the Trnby King Karitane-Harris Hospitn.l, Dunedin, and are being relieved by Nurses li. Slatter and L. Buskc. Donations for the Truby King Karitane Hospital were received from Avondale and Ta.kapuna sub-committees, To Aroha, and Paeroa, Wailii and Elstow snb-branches. Avondale and Takapuna a.lsa made donations to headquarters' funds.

Notification was received of the "appointment of Dr. T. H. Pcttit as senior medical officer of tlie Trubv King Karitano Hospital honorary staff, to fill the vacancy caused by tlio resignation of Dr. K. Tracy Inglis. Tlio lion, architects, Messrs. C'hilwcll and Trevithick, submitted an outline and estimates of necessary alterations at Karitane Hospital. After discussion, the committee agreed that these be proceeded with. It was decided that the programme for next year's activities would be discussed at the next meeting.
