INJURY TO CYCLIST.

CLAIM AGAINST SOLICITOR.

The action for damages in which the rider of a motor cycle, Thomas Johii Taylor (Mr. Goldstine), a carpenter, claimed £2428 damages from F. J. Ncwborv (Mr. Finlay and Mr. Wallace), a solicitor, was concluded at the Supreme Court yesterday before Mr. Justice Fair and a jury. Both vehicles were proceeding along Mamikau Road towards the city. The cyclist, when turning to the right, was struck by a motor car driven by the defendant. Ho suffered injuries to his leg which caused him to be permanently lame. Contending that the accident was due to defendant's negligent driving, he claimed £2000 general and £428 special damages. The jury returned at 3 p.m. with a verdict for the plaintiff, adding that they had agreed that the defendant was guilty of negligence.
