INDIANAPOLIS AGAIN.

CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday.
The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's spring meeting was continued at Addington to-day in fine weather. The track was heavy early in the day, but improved later. War Buoy won the chief event, the Louisson Memorial Handicap, beating Sunny Morn by a head in a great finish. Double Great scored in the Now Zealand Derby Stakes, and Indianapolis, who won the New Zealand Cup on the first day, had a brilliant victory in the Clarkson Memorial Handicap of one mile. The attendance was . fair, and the totalisator investments amounted to £25,C19, coniDared with £27,528 on the corresponding day last year. The Whiteleigh Handicap provided a fine finish. Norman Fox, Guy o' Mine and Winsome Laddie broke in the first lurlong, but the firstnamed pair went on quickly. After two furlongs Welcome Guy and Kotinga were in front and at the end of a mile Norman Fox joined in witli Amonos next. Guy o' Mine and Sandy JN. moved up six furlongs from home. naj«iy N. led to the straight, but Guy o Mine wore him down, winning by a length, with Amonos a similar distance away and .Norman Fox a poor fourth and Canton, who broke badly in the first mile, next. Guy o' Mine went on both days like a mucnunproved horse. Double Great was smartest out in tr.e Derby, Frisco Lady, Casanova and Oaillard 'following, while Superior Rank ran into second place after two furlongs. There was no change till nearly halt the journey was covered, where Pot Luck also joined in, the whole field being in close order at this stage Along the back Double Great was followed by Gaillaid. Casanova and Superior Rank. Then came Frisco Lady, who had to drop back to the rear to get an opening at the home turn, where Gaillard retired. Pot Luck and Double Great led Casanbva to the straight, with Frisco Lady moving up on tlic outside. Frisco Lady finished strongly, but Double Great held her off by a longlh. Casanova was a length and a half away, while two lengths further back Superior Kank just cut Pot Luck out of tomth place. The winner gave a smoo'Ji performance, showing himself to be a v:eumannered young horse and a good racehorse. Frisco Lady was well placed early, but Rot into a bad position in the last round and had to give the winner toe. much start in the straight. At the same time Double Great won so decisively that there was no room to excuse the detcal of any of the others.
A Fino Performance. The scratching of Indianapolis. Wrecker and Evicus left a Held of 13 in the Louisson Memorial Handicap. War Buoy tangled at the start, where Blue Mountain broke badly. When the field settled down Gold Tinge and Trampfast were showing the way to Taxpayer, while at the end of six furlongs Wild Guy, War Buoy and Worthy Light were handy, and bunny Morn joined in at the mile post WHO Guy retired along the back, the other five ,ein g in a bunch three furlongs from ionic, whore Roi I'Or was closing; up. Gold Tinge then shot out clear ot War Buoy and Sunny Morn, but they gathered her at the entrance to the straight, War Buoy stalling off bis rival by a head. (.old Tingo was three lengths away, a head in front of Roi l'Or, with Trampfast and Taxpayer next. War Buoy gave a rare exhibition of gametics sand stamina, while Sunny Morn went right up to mj uest. form. Worthy Light was a possibility ror a mile and a quarter, after which he iaded out Red Shadow never looked dangerous Roi l'Or stayed on in fine style. I-Vrnbrook Lags led nil the way in the November Handicap and won comfortably. Homeward, Bingen Palm and Raydus tollowcd her for a mile and a quarter, when Raydus retired, Roy Sper; taking his place. the others being close up. Rev Spec anu Agile retired two furlongs from home, and Avrmont Chimes broke ill the straight, where Gunfire ran past. Bingen Palm while Little Nelson came with a Into rush, ailing by a head to catch Gunfire,, while Bingen Palm was fourth. He did not show so much dash as on luesdny Backers went strongly in the EHeemere Handicap for Golden Direct and the Graham Direct-Prairie King bracket. Guy Junior. Girvan. Lillian Bond, Prairie King and Golden Direct showed the way for half a mile, when Graham Direct joined in on the inside. There was no change along the back, where Graham Direct, broke badly. Guy Junior, Girvan and Golden Direct led to the straight where Willow Wave shot through and won easily by two lengths. Llewellyns Pride finished well, stalling off a, late challenge from Cloudy Range by halt a length Golden Direct. Guy Junior and Prairie King were next. The winner s performance was impressive, as ho was a long way back early after tangling at the start. He is a brilliant pacer, but very uncertain.
An Auckland Success. The Metropolitan Handicap was a fine race for most of the way. The Aucklander King's Warrior, who was a not favourite, broke at the start. Young Frank going on in charge, but after halt a mile Prince Author headed him, Golden Cross, Young Travis and Jolly Wave being handy in front of a big bunch. At the far turn Young Travis took charge, wiui Kditor and Sylvia Sydney in pursuit. These three led to the straight, where King's Warrior and Jolly ■ Wave came through on the inside to head the others, King's Warrior beating Jolly Wave by half a length. Sylvia Sydney was a length away, with Real Burton and Golden Cross close up. The performance or .King ts Warrior was a good one after His mistake at the start. , Nicoya and Stanley T. broke up at tne start of the Sockburn Handicap. Dem Chenault led Teviot Downs, Raelaim, .l|ita, Lough Guy and First Wrack for half a mile, when Teviot Downs took charge. There was no change with halt the journey gone, Sea Gift being handy. Three furlongs from home Teviot Downs led First Wrack, with Sea Gift in close attendance and Bessie Parrish, Nell Volo and Norma Bingen handy. Sea Gift retired when the straight was readied,. lurst Wrack going on to win easily by turae lengths from Norma Bingen, who hnisned strongly. Nell Volo was two lengths back, just iu" front of Bessie Parrish and Great Way. The win was a popular one, as the Durbar Lodge stable has not had much luck lately. The Glarkspn Memorial Handicap was a fine wind-up to the day. The track had dried up a lot, though it was still tar from fast. Sir Guy led out from Tempest,, Vesuvius and Evious, while Red Shadow shot up on the inside to join in after two furlongs, where Indianapolis was travelling well. Evicus took charge two furlongs from home, leading Tempest, Vesuvius and Roddy to the straight, where Tempest ran to the front. Then Indianapolis came along on the outside, getting up to beat his mate by three-quarters of a length. Evicus was over a length away third, just in front of Roddy, Great Logan and Emilius Way. The Australian Jockey Club hue again increased their prize money, £000 having been added to the next Donoaeter Handicap, which will be worth £2000.
