WOMAN BOOKMAKER FINED

PROSECUTION AT DTTNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. In the Police Court this afternoon, before Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., Martha McCluskcy, aged 42, a widow, pleaded guilty to using her dwelling house in Castle Street as a common gaming house. The police stated that from betting material seized to-day it was evident that defendant conducted a fairly extensive business. A telephone and table were installed in a front room. A fine of £10 was imposed, 14 clays being allowed for payment after defendant had stated that she was not an agent but was "on her own."
