FALL FROM CAR.
YOUNG CLERK'S DEATH.
EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. "This was a most unfortunate affair and appears to have been a pure accident," said the coroner, Jlr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this afternoon, when he concluded the inquest concerning the death of Robert James Wallace, aged 20, a clerk, who lived at 7, Fern Avenue, One Tree Hill. Evidence was given that a number of people were, returning from a dance about 3 a.m. on September 29 and that Wallace fell from the running board of a motor cur. Wallace received a fracture of the skull and was admitted to a private hospital where he died on October 29. All the occupants of the car were sober, as also was Wallace. The coroner returned a verdict that death was due to pnuemococeal meningitis, which probably followed on injuries received in accidentally falling from the motor car.
