Judge C. E. MacCormiek. of the Xative Land Court, left for Maeterton yesterday. Sir George King, who arrived from Sydney by the Aorangi yesterday, is at Hotel Cargen. > Captain V. G. Webb, marine superintendent of the Union Steam Ship Company, left for Wellington last night. Mr. D. Reese was elected president of the New Zealand Cricket Council at the annual meeting of delegates in Christchurch. Major-Generat Sir William Sinclair Burgess, general ofiicer commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, will leave for the South from Frankton by the Limited to-night. Mr. W. R. Fee, chairman of the Auckland Cricket Association, has returned from Glinstehurclij where lie attended the annual meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council. Mr. J. Barr, chief librarian at the Auckland Public Library, has returned from New Plymouth, where lie addressed gatherings on the subject of the rural •Jibraries scheme proposed by the Carnegie Institute. Major J. P. K. Veale, clerk to the Heatlicote County Council, will be invested with the Colonial Auxiliary Forces' Decoration* by the GovernorGeneral, Lord Galway, at a Government House investiture early next month at Chris tchurch.
