ELLERSLIE TRIALS.

THIS MORNING'S WORK,

TRAY BIT GOES EAST. FLEETWIND ALSO SHAPES WELL. The weather was showery during training operations at Ellerelie this morning, and the going on No. 2 grass track, on which all fast work was done, was _ a shade on the heavy 6ide. The best efforts during the morning were credited to Tray Bit and Fleetwind, who both impressed. Lord Val was first out, being timed to run five furlongs in 1.7 4-5, the last halfmile taking 545. Sir Abb was allotted useful work, but was not on a timemaking mission. Tray Bit finished lengths in front of Pasha at the conclusion of four furlongs, which occupied 50 2-ss. It was the best of the morning over the distance, and Tray Bit did his work in good style. On Parade was going nicely beside Professional at the end of five furlongs covered in 1.7 3-5. .On Parade has improved a good deal during the last few weeks] and looks well. Imamint was going well-within herself while traversing half a mile, in 52 2-ss. This mare is engaged at the, Waikato meeting, and should perform creditably. Whirlmint and Ring Shot were timed to complete four furlongs in 53 2-ss. Both shaped nicely, and could have done better. Etcetera strode over six furlongs in 1.24 4-5. He was under restraint throughout, and handled the going in good style. Valspear got to the end of a five-furlong task in 1.7 1-5, doing it comfortably. This novice is in fine order for coming engagements, and shows any amount of promise. Fleetwind was a shade in front of Red Flame after traversing five furlongs in 1.5 _ 4-5, though the latter also went nicely throughout.

Hunting Maid, was given an easy six furlongs, which torfok. 1.21 1-5, and Psychologist, going comfortably, did a similar task in 1.23. Super Ruler and Chief Emerald sprinted five furlongs in 1.6 1-5. They ran the first two in 25 3-ss, and there was little between theni at the end.

A number of other horses were allotted useful tasks on the sand track.
