DRIVER COLLAPSES.

Dies When Passing Post — Corpse Weighed In. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, November 1. The "Daily Telegraph's" Bucharest correspondent states that' a jockey, aged 72, was specially permitted, because his horse was a great favourite, to participate at the trots. He collapsed in his seat as he finished. The grooms caught the bridle of the horse, and found that the jockey was dead. Backers claimed their bets, asserting he was alive when the horse passed the post. The judges conceded the point, but insisted that the corpse must be weighed in. Women placed flowers on his 6ides and arms. Crowds followed the sulky to the weighing-in room, and many refused to cash their totalisator tickets, retaining them as mascots.
