BACKSTROKE RECORD. BERLIN, October 21. An American swimmer, Adolf Iviefer, claims to have established a world's backstroke record. He swam 100 metres in 07 seconds. AUCKLAND CENTRE. The nnnual meeting of delegates to the. Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association • will be held to-morrow (Wednesday) night,, in room No. 30, Ferry Buildings, at a quarter to eight. I ARNELL CLUB. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Parnell Amateur Swimming Club, presided over by Mr. H. ■Tolinson. He complimented the outgoing committee on the exceptionally good work done during the past season, and on the satisfactory state of finances. Officers elected : Patron, Mr. IT. S. Brigham ; vice-patron, Mr. C. Bruce Smith; president, Dr. J. A. "Watson; vice-presidents, lion. Eliot Davis, Mr. Ernest Davis and 30 others; secretary, Mr. H. Homiston ; assist-ant-secretary, Miss K. Bull; treasurer, Mr. It. Skinner: delegates to Auckland Centre, Messrs. D. Milnes, H. Johnson, J. Butcher.
