N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. TO BE HEU> AT DUNEDIN. ON FEBRUARY 28 AND 29. Sir. H. Jj. Towers presided at last night's monthly meeting of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur, Athletic Association, at which advice was received that the Dominion championships would be held at Dunedin on February 28 and 20. Advice was received that no tour of the Dominion would be made this season. Discussion followed regarding the possibility of a tour of Auckland province from New South Wales athletes, and it was resolved that the matter he left to an urgent meeting of the executive. A letter was received from the Kiwi Ladies' Club suggesting that further steps be taken by the centre to c.ncourage ladles' athletics in Auckland. A sub-committee was appointed to control this phase of the sport, subject to the approval of the executive committee. Mr. J. P. Dolan was appointed the centre delegate to the subcommittee. A letter was received from the Old Grammarians' Club suggesting that the relay championship, as carried out in 1933-34 season, be revived. Considerable discussion followed, and it was resolved that endeavours be made to conduct a meeting later in the season, staging all the relay championships. The president and secretary, Messrs. H. L. Towers and H. Jenner Wily, were appointed delegates to the meeting called by the Mayor regarding the Auckland centenary celebrations. The Waikato sub-centre wroto asking that permission he granted for clubs in that area to compete at the championships. Permission was granted. Permission was also granted the Old Grammarians* and Technical Old Boys to hold' a combined "picnic" meeting at the Grammar School on November 9. EMPIRE GAMES.
WILL THEY BE IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, October 21. Mr. J. W. Eve, secretary of the Australian British Empire Games committee, has received the following cablegram from the Australian representative in London : "Feel reasonably confident that the games will be allotted to Australia at the meeting on November 4. Africa and New Zealand advise they arc supporting."
