SCHEME SUPPORTED.
CITY TRAFFIC CENTRE. TRANSPORT BOARD'S VIEW. Unanimous support for the Auckland City Council's traffic centre scheme is to be given by the Auckland Transport Board. An explanation of the scheme to make the old railway station site a terminus for all bue and other transport traffic, and to provide parking for motor cars, was given to the board this morning by Mr. W. T. Anderton. Mr, J. A. C. Allum moved that a report on the question be obtained from the board's manager, Mr. A. E. Ford, but the chairman, Mr. H. G. R. Mason, pointed out that with Mr. F. E. Lark he had seen the Mayor and had told him there was nothing in the proposals that the board would object to. "The council has to obtain special authority to go ahead with the scheme, and application is now before the authorities," eaid Mr. Mason. "Parliament may wind up this week, eo that there ie no time to obtain reports. It is a convenient, almost ideal site. The scheme seems a good one, and I can see no objections from the board's point of view." On the motion of Mr. Lark, the board decided to give every support to the City Council s scheme. I
