SAWMILL ON FIRE.

ALMOST A TOTAL LOSS. VALUABLE TIMBER UNTOUCHED. ! H,v Telegraph.— Press Association.T GREYMOUTH, this day. A sawmill at South Beach, owned by Stratford, Blair and Company, was almost totally destroyed by lire early this morning. A south-west wind fanned the tones, and there was no hope of saving the building and machinery. Valuable stacks of timber were untouched, and a locomotive was salvaged. The mill, employing 30 men, had been working at lull capacity for a month. The insurances totalled £5000.
