"OUR MISS GIBBS."
MUSICAL COMEDY SEASON. To judge from tuo large and enthusiastic audiences at His Majesty's Theatre and the many requests for additional performances, Auckland seems very reluctant to say good-bye to Madge Elliott and Cyril liitchard, the popular Australian couple who are appearing \yith the J. C. Williamson musical comedy company. But the management have expressed their regret that the season caunot possibly be extended, and the company will leave for New Plymouth at the week-end. Their final production, the delightful musical comedy "Our Mise Gibbs," begins a season of live nights and two matinees at His Majesty's to-night. Many are the happy memories this production will bring back to the minds of Auckland theatregoers of its bubbling humour and never-to-be-forgotten tunes. The Australian Press and public alike remarked that the company's presentation of the play was not a revival, but a brand new production in every way. But there is still Miss Gibbs, who is as young and as gay and as charming as ever, in a whirl of laughter and light romance and rippling Ivan Caryl 1 melodies. Mr. Ritchard and Miss Elliott will take the leading roles, supported by what is probably the strongest cast ever to appear on the New Zealand stage. "Our Miss Gibbs" introduces to tlie Dominion Freddie Foss, the English comedian recently brought to Australia by J. C. Williamson, Ltd. Then there are such well-known players as Leslio Crane, Charles Zoli, Marie Le Yarre, and many others.
