CONTROVERSIAL?
It seems to me that there is a great deal of unfairness in the present broadcasting arrangements. A' considerable part of the Kev. Strong's sermon on Sunday evening, for example, appeared (to at least one listener) to be directed rather pointedly at the group of Auckland clergymen who recently held a protest meeting in the Town Hall. Yet if the group sought permission to put their point ot view, there can be little doubt that it would be refused, 011 the grounds that the subjectmatter was controversial. If broadcasting preachers are to be allowed by the board to refer in their sermons to highly controversial public affairs, the ordinary listener will sooil begin to ask why the privilege should not be extended further. SPORTSMAN.
