WANGANELLA FROM SY~MEY.
PORT CHALMERS DUE.
The Hudclart-.Parker Company's favourite liner Wanganella will arrive at noon to-morrow from Sydney. Slie brings 160 passengers, 170 bags of mail and an air mail which left London on September 22. She is due to leave for Sydney to-morrow afternoon. The Port Chalmers will arrive from London at midnight on Wednesday. She has explosives to discharge at the powdei ground, off Motuihi and will not berth until Friday morning. H.M.S. Dunedin leaves at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow far the Bluff, where she is due on Saturday. After visiting South Island ports and Wellington she arrives back on November 30.
Mataroa is loading at the Queens wharf and is due to sail for London, via Panama, at 5 p.m. on Friday. (L.DiN.)

THE CANADIAN CHALLENGER. The Canadian Challenger is reported to have reached New York on Saturday, on | route from Wellington to Boston and Montreal. THE FRESNO STAR. The Blue Star Line steamer Fresno Star, which arrives from Liverpool on Friday, lias cargo from Glasgow transferred at Liverpool from the Napier Star. THE TAINUI. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tainui sailed from Southampton on I rlilay with passengers and cargo for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on November 11. CAPETOWN'S PROGRESS. There has been an increase of nearly 200,0110 tons of goods handled at Table Bay Harbour during the first six months of this year, as compared with the corresponding period of 1934, according to statistics issued by the Capetown Chamber of Commerce. STEAMERS FROM PACIFIC PORTS. Messrs. Henderson and Maefarlanc, Ltd., have received advice that the Golden State, now loading at American ports, is to leave Los Angeles on October ll for .Auckland, Wellington and Australia. She is due at Auckland about November 7. The Golden Coast is to leave Los Angeles on November 1, and is due about November 27. The Golden Bear leaves on December 1, and is due iiere on December 20. HERTFORD REPLACES HORORATA. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Hertford, instead of the Hororata, will leave Liverpool on December 7 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. She is due here about January ID. NEW O.S.K. MOTOR SHIPS. Advice has been received that two new vessels for the Osaka Sliosen Kaislia's Australian trade will be in commission next Mav. Each will be of 7000 tons, with a speed of 18 knots. The ships will maintain an 11 days' service between Brisbane and Kobe. There will be provision for the carriage of chilled beef. NAUTICAL EXAMINATION RESULTS. The following students of the Richmond Nautical School were successful at the recent Marine Department examinations conducted at this port : H. G. McMillan, master home trade; T. Douglas, first mate home trade ; Sub-Lieutenant King, R.N.V.R., navigation preliminary : A. McKay, written and oral sections fishing master; F. T. Chapman, signals section. LOST SHIPS FOUND. The Italian freighter Granian which foundered in 1915, lias been found by the Epron Salvaging Expedition at the bottom of the Black Sea in the channel of port Nikolaiev. A steam yacht which belonged to the admiral commanding the Black Sea Fleet, which sank in 1902, has also been found near tlie Granian. The Epron has started to raise both vessels. ANOTHER NEW VESSEL. The Union Steamship Company, Limited, recently placed an order with A. Stephen and Sons, Limited, Glasgow, for a new motor ship for (lie intercolonial general cargo and timber trade. The vessel will be about 2400 tons gross register and will carry about. .'iOOO tons of cargo in addition to fuel, stores, etc. The vessel will have a speed of about 11 knots and will have special hatches for carrying long lengths of timber. It is expected that this further addition to the company's fleet will be in commission next year. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS.
