RIFLE SHOOTING.
AKARANA DEFENCE CLUB. The Akarana Defence Rifle Cllil) opened its season on Saturday. when the first shoot of the championship was fired over ranges of 500 and GOO yards for trophies presented by the patron, the president and Mr. .T. B. Donald. The shooting throughout was of a high standard. W. Colqulioun registered the first possible for tlie season by hitting the bullseye ten times at 500 yards. .T. Cossar (of the Auckland Grammar School) recorded top score for the day with 05 points out of the possible 100. Details of the sliooting are as follows :— Section A.—\V.
