ENGLISH VISITOR’JS PRAISE.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day.

“Although there is room for improvement in one centre, the maternity hospitals in New Zealand are well up to standard,” said Dr. J. Bright Banister, consulting obstetrical surgeon at Queen Charlotte Maternity Hospital, London, who is paying a short v’nit to Dunedin. He suggested that house surgeons should be appointed to some o f the obstetrical hospitals from the ranks of the younger graduates. Dr. Banister is greatly impressed by the scenic beauties of New Zealand and is seeing as much of the country as possible. 0 Next week he will accompany Dr. J. B. Dawson on a trip round the southern lakes. He will then return to* London, via Australia.
