DANCING SHADOWS.

(By Molly Curtin, 62, Clarence Street, Ponsonby; age 14 years.)

Happy shadows dancing lightly In a gentle summer breeze; Ever dancing, never ceasing, While the wind stirs flowers and trees.

Angry shadows tossing wildly On a chilly wintry day; Dashing madly, hither-thither, Children chase you while at play. Weary shadows, quietly sleeping When the shades of evening fall; But the -rising sun will find you Answering the new day’s call.
