LAWN TENNIS.
WAIKATO EAST MEETING. PUTARURU, Friday. The annual meeting of the Waikato East I,awn Tennis Sub-association was held at Tirnu last evening, Dr. J. T. Laurcnson presiding. The annual report stated that the association comprised 11 affiliated clubs, witli a total membership of 352. The 'financial position was not good, a credit balance of 16/2 being shown for the season. Special mention was made of the fine records of two association members, Misses N. and Margaret Beverley, of Matamnta, whose last season’s performances in the New Zealand and Auckland championships attracted much attention. Miss N. Beverley has been asked to compete in the Australian and Victorian championships, and will leave on October 25 and the association resolved to assist by a financial effort. The election of officers resulted :—Patron, Mr. J. Keane; president, Mr. H. A. Jefisen; vice-presidents, Dr. J. T. I.aurenson, Messrs. F. Rose, 11, Livingstone, N. L. Higginson, A. W. E. Bragg; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. L. Sutcliffe ; hon. auditor, Mr. 11. E. Schofield; management committee, Messrs. H. Keeley, A. McKenna (Matamata), R. Germann (Hinuera), It. L. Paterson (Putaruru), G. Kirk (Walton), T. iMncken (Rangipal), R. Dunlop (Te Whetu); sole selector, Dr. J. T. Laurensou; advisory selectors, Messrs. H. A. Jensen and H. Keeley.
