STEEPLECHASE EVENT.

OTAHUHU HIGH SCHOOL. The Otahuhu Technical High School held its annual steeplechase yesterday, when about 250 boys participated. Conditions were ideal with the cross-country track in excellent order. The limit runners, of 3.15, set a past pace over the course of approximately four miles, and the back-markers were set a stiff task to overhaul the field. The fastest time was registered by J. Ross, whose actual running time was within 30s of the record of 18.36 established in 1932 by Arkinstall. The first four runners to complete the course were: S. Wells, 2.30, 1: J. Ross, scr, 2; A.'Francis, 3.0, 3; H. Thompson, 3.15, 4.
