DOG'S SAVAGE ATTACK.
SCHOOLBOY IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HASTINGS, this day. Attacked by au Alsatian dog when returning from school on Monday, Ronald Frederick Anthony, nine years, of Fergusson Street, was. admitted to tiie Hastings Memorial Hospital, suffering from a wound in his hip.
It is understood that the dog was inside a house property and actually jumped the gate, making a grab at the strap of the school bag, which tile boy carried. The strap was broken and the boy was pushed into the gutter by the dog, which then put its teeth into his clothing and shook him as it would a rat. The boy's screams attracted the attention of the neighbours and the dog was driven off.
