ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
ONEHUNGA. A social and dance organised by the OnchungA Ambulance Division was held in the Orphans' Hall, Onehunga. The function was opened by the Mayor, Mr. J. Park, who is an ex-membor of the division. Items were given by the following: Miss Peggy Noall and Miss Jackson, toe dancing; Miss Nancy Noall, acrobatic dancing; Mrs. Milligan, song; Scottish reel, by members of Onehunga Pipers. Tho hall was decorated in black and white by ladies of the divisional social committee, who also provided tho supper. The following officers were present: Divisional Surgeon J. Kirkwood, Divisional Superintendents H. W. Thompson and G. Green, Corps Superintendent C. E. A. Lindesay and officers of the Huntly Ambulance and Nursing Divisions. Among the ladies present were: Mesdames Johnson, Jackson, Swcctman, McCarthy, Anderson, Bennett, Williams, Baker, Fehsenfeld, Baldwin, Wilkinson, Moody, Noall, Guest, Stpvhams, Fowkl, Evans, Lee, Hamish, Penny, Fraser, Frost, Brockensliire, King, Perkins, Parkinson, Coper, Jones, Bremner, Wells, Chevis, Sims, . Ferry, Cargill, Nelson, Sherwin, Salmon, Goldsberry, Atkinson, Mathews, Green, Garrat, Haywood, Hunter, Misses Varley, Vaughan, Blood, Beer, Atkinson, Green. The evening closed with the National Anthem.
The division has had the annual re-cxamination and inspection, and the inspecting officers were very satisfied with tho general efficiency and work of the division, which are iargely due to the excellent work of and the amount of time given to* the division by the Division Surgeon Dr. Jas. Kirkwood. POINT. CHEVALIER. The animal re-examination and inspection of the Point Chevalier section of the Auckland Ambulance Division was held on Monday. Tho examination was carried out by District Si<rgeon Neil McDougall, and the inspection by Commissioner C. J. Tunks. Both officers were well pleased with the section, and the commissioner announced that Sergeant R. Scott, who is in charge of the section, .was to be promoted to ambulance officer. A visit was paid to the casualty room at Point Chevalier Beach, which is manned by members of the section. Other officers present were District Superintendent A. W. Probert, District Officer U. Hitchen, Corps Superintendent C. E. A. Lindesay, and Corps I Officer E. C. Howes.
