WARNING TO PARENTS.

GLASS EYES IN TOYS. "Mother" writes: I am deeply concerned to warn parents or guardians of the danger that lies in children being allowed to play with toy animals, etc., with glass eyes. The toys are often beautifully made, and- the eyes are the most realistic part, but these eyes are frequently attached to a long metal pin often rusty, with just a touch of glue to keep them in place. I found my baby had extracted one eye of his teddy bear and had the other half out in his mouth. If he had swallowed one, the result might have been very serious. I urge all who have the care of children to remove at once and, if neccssary, replace with stitches (though children do not mind much if there are none) the glass eyes of all the teddy bears, pussies, doggies, bunnies, etc., that are found in the juvenile menagerie. The welfare of our children is far more precious than the appearance of their toys.
