SUGAR CONFERENCE.
DELEGATES GOING HOME.
A party of sugar technologists, who have been attending an international conference at Brisbane, arrived jit Auckland to-day, homeward-bound on the Monterey. New \ork City, Washington, Louisiana, Porto Rico, the British West Indies, Cuba, India, Java, Natal and Peru were all represented at the convention. ' Asked hisf opinion of the Australian sugar industry, as compared with technical standards abroad, one of the party, Dr. F. W. Zerban, who is attached to the industry's membership corporation laboratories in New York, said it was difficult to make comparisons where conditions were different and peculiar to Australia, but he had been very interested in what he had seen. After the conference the party visited the cancfields as far north as Cairns. Mrs. Zerban added that the Australians were "wonderful people" and «lie co-Id not say too much about their hospitality.
