HAVOC AT OXFORD SHOW.

RUGBY, September 20,

Further high winds have done jnuch. damage in various parts of the country. Yesterday at the Thames Show,, in Oxfordshire, the largest one-day agricultural show held in Britain, the proceedings were brought to a standstill by the havoc of the gale. Tents and booths were blown down and several people suffered minor injuries. A large marquee which housed floral exhibits was blown down and hundreds pf pounds' worth of damage was done to the blooms.

The storm in the Channel caused the steamer Queen of the Channel to turn back when on a plea* ire cruise from Margate to Calais.
