PERSONAL.

Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., returned to Auckland by train yesterday. ilr. G. Mills. Mayor of Birkenhead, left for the South last niglit. Mr. Justice Callan will leave for the South by the Limited to-night. Sir Henry Ilorton returned from the South by the Limited this morning. The Hon. Eliot Davis returned from the South by the Limited this morning. Dr. S. K. Phillips, a member of the Broadcasting Board, left for Wellington by train yesterday afternoon. Mr. L. W. Nelson, a director of the Mortgage Corporation, left for Wellington by train yesterday afternoon. Dr. E. P. Neale, secretary of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, returned from the South by the Limited this morning. Mr. A. S. Player was admitted a barrister of the Supreme Court this morning by Mr. Justice Callan 011 the motion of Mr. D. W. Mason.

Air. B. W. Bell was admitted a barrister of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Callan this morning 011 the motion of ill'. C. A. Herman. Mr. H. Baulf, provincial organiser for the Democrat political party, has returned to Auckland after a visit to Tauranga, Rotorua and the Waikato. Mr. I. J. Pohlen, M.A., of the North Auckland Lands Department, will leave Auckland at the end of the month to assist Dr. L. Grange in soil survey work in the Hawke's Bay district. Mr. L. W. Robertson, railways locomotive engineer, returned from the South by the first express this morning. ilr. J. C. Martin, manager of the Otahuhu workshops, returned to Auckland from Wellington yesterday.
