TWO-YEAR-OLD TRIALS. N.Z. YOUNGSTERS GO WELL. SYDNEY, September 19. Two-year-olds were given their trials in twelve heats over four furlongs at the Victoria Park course to-day. Among tho colts by far the best display was given by Gold Rod, a New Zealand-bred chestnut by Chief Ruler from Oreum, daughter of Desert Gold. Gold Rod won his heat by two lengths in 495. Two fillies to record 40s and 49%6 were Retrieved, by Ldmond from Mislaid, and Kanbuz, by Rampion from Pet Symington. lolaus has broken down, and is being relieved of all spring engagements. Voitre is to ride Synagogue in the Epsom Handicap. Pike is likely to ride Silver Ring.
