POLICE TO INQUIRE ?

DISTURBANCE AT CHATEAU. "NOT OFFICALLY REPORTED YET." (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. "The matter has not been reported to us yet officially," said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. W. G. Wohlmann, when asked to-day if the Department proposed to take any action in connection with the disturbance reported to have occurred at the Chateau Tongariro on September 9, when the manager, Mr. 11. C'obbe, received a serious head injury while remonstrating, it is said, with some visitors in the early hours of the morning. Mr. Wohlmann said the police were making inquiries. Mr. Cobbe was still in hospital and would be unable to talk to the police for a week or two. Mr. Wohlmann indicated that the affair was not as sensational as it had appeared from certain Press reports.
