COSTUME BALL.
NORTHCOTE HIGH SCHOOL. The King's Theatre, at Northcote, was crowded last night on the occasion of the annual fancy dress hall of the Kortlicote District High School. The largo number of varied costumes made a colourful showing especially during the grand march. The folk dances by the primary school were well dene, and included the "Shoemaker" and "Harvesters' Dance," by the infants, and "Grand Old Duke" and "Sellenger's Round," and also the polonaise by standard pupils. Sixteen high school girls, Misses Marie Pugh, Pat Heley, Jean Low, Margaret Roberts, Beverly Clark, Joan Pearce, Dorothy Lewis, Lorraine Ripley, Tlielma Hunter, Edna Lydiard, .Tean Squires, Iris Hazard, Mamie Robinson, Shirley Langton, Jocelyn Portridge and Vivienne McFetridge, executed a minuet in graceful style. The dance music was played by Mrs. 11. Williams, Misses M. A. Mahoney and J. R. Brown. The supervision "by the headmaster, Mr. W. J. Wernham, was augmented by Misses N. Atkin, M. H. Hoyle, M. B. Brown, F. B. Armstrong, A. G. Willis, R. Perez, E. Creedon, J. Brown, Messrs. H. R. Clark, F. G. Blackwell, E. B. Hillam, E. A. Johnson and J. E. Insley.
Tho ladies' committee, which cooperated with the teaching stalf, comprised: Mesdames W. S. Sanders (president), H. Shaw, ,T. Blake, H. S. Alexander, J. Barrott, C. L. Duke, P. Roberts, W. .T. Goad, W. Marshall, J. Brennan. S. Pugh, R. Pagan, J. Gracie, I. DareJones, Miss J. M. Meston, with Mr. E. Preston as secretary.
