The fingers of his left hand were severely crushed when Desmond Bell, aged 18, a machinist employed at the works of the Reid (N.Z.) Rubber Mills, Limited, at Penrose, had his hand caught in a machine yesterday morning. The young man, who lives at 2, LiTlington Road, Remuera, was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance.
