ST. ANDREW'S AUXILIARY.
RECORD ATTENDANCE. From comparatively small proportions the -women's auxiliary of the St. Andrew's Society lias grown so large that, at a meeting held in the Fabian Club rooms yesterday afternoon, there was a particularly large attendance, and extra seating accommodation had to be secured for the many members and visitors. The president, Mrs. J. K. Black, presided and extended a cordial welcome to the guests.The speaker for the afternoon was Mr. J. W. Shaw, who told the story of Flora Macdonald and the way in which she shielded Prince Charlie. Mr. Shaw gave graphic descriptions of Scotland and the Hebridean Isles, and the dramatic force of the well-known story was much appreciated by the listeners. The remainder of the programme was also Scottish in keeping with the address. "Flora Macdonald's Lament" was sung by Mrs. A. Rattray, and "The Skye. Boat Song" was sung by* Mrs. David McLaren. The Highland fling was danced by two little girls.
