TAKAPUNA GRAMMAR.

HEADMASTER FAREWELLED. In honour of their headmaster, Mr. C. M. Littlejolin, who has been appointed headmaster of tho Auckland Grammar School, tho ex-pupils of the Takapuna Grammar School held a farewell social and danco on Saturday evening. The function, which was largely attended, took place in St. Michael's Hall, Belmont. On behalf of tho ex-pupils, the secretary, Miss Jean Kay, presented Mr. and Mrs. Littlejohn with a silver tea service. Mrs. Littlejohn wore a gown of black taffeta with floral design, and was presented with a bouquet of scarlet flowers. The members of the ladies' committee comprised: Miss Jean Kay, who wore forest green crepe suede; Miss Blance Haden, black lace and velvet; Miss Kath. O'Brien, nut brown taffeta; Miss Rose Haden, lacquer red floral silk; Miss Bub Corner, del blue taffeta; Miss Helen Schmidt, Lido blue crepe suede; Miss Margaret Bartrum, lemon coloured floral georgette; Miss Molly Deighton, white georgette with silver relief. Also present were: Mesdames A. G. Coulam, A. W. Shirt, C. C. Robinson, R. Smallfield, Keith Anderson, J. Thompson, Harvey Thompson, Misses M. Macdonald, 0. L. G. Adams, M. R. Himmel, Mawhinney, Helen Elliott, Gladwyn Wynyard.Rona Dickey, Joyce Gooding, Pauline Woodroffe,' Deniso Nugent, E. Kingsford, Betty Middleton, S. Marton, T. Nettleton, M. Byrch, Marie 80110, Ruth Harvey, Sunday Mowbray, Ida Awhwin, Joy Cummings, Nancy Arthur, M. Marton," M. Crossley, Bunty Schmidt and Dorothy Smith. During the evening items were given as follow: —Tap dance, by Miss Doreen O'Leary; sketches, by Miss M. Mowbray; songs,, by Mr. I. Bushell and Mr. D. Lunny.
