CREDIT BY FRAUD.
WELLSFORD MAN SENTENCED. BOARD FOR HIS FAMILY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Saturday. Charged with obtaining credit by fraud to the amount of £18 from Albert Harry Mason, of Wellsford, John Gordon McAlister pleaded guilty. Sergeant Culloty, for the police, said McAlister had represented that he was travelling for a city firm, and obtained board for himself and his wife and child. He said his employer would forward the money through the post office. The money was not forthcoming. Accused, who had previous convictions, was sentenced to two months' imprisonment in Mount Eden prison with hard labour.
