LOCAL BODY OFFICERS.
Preliminary steps have been taken to form a local and public bodies' officers' guild for the Aiickland district. At a representative meeting a provisional executive was appointed to prepare constitutional data for submission to a later meeting, to which every local body officer in the area Avill be The objects of the guild include the promotion of the general welfare of members, encouraging of co-operation among local body oflieers, the fostering of a social spirit arnon;;st members and the encouragement of ofticci-ft to become efficient and uphold the dignity of the service. Members of the provisional committee are: Messrs. E. Ashcroft, T. W. M. Ashby, N. L. Norman, A. G. Wilson, H. L. Bowden and N. R. Cathie. The last named was appointed Interim secretary.
