SEARCH ABANDONED.

LOST HAWKE'S $AY AIRMAN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NAPIER, this day. The search for the Hawke's Bay airman, Mr. Hamish Armstrong, who was lost in the Ruahine Ranges after the crashing of his aeroplane, has been abandoned. Captain L. Forde's party, with two other parties, returned to the Wakarara base to-day. They made their way up the Rangitikei River anc. along the spur to where the machine was found, but made no discoveries. Another party traversed the Maropea Valley and the Rangitikei Valley, but saw no trace of the missing pilot.
