CHURCH REPORTS.
EPSOM PRESBYTERIAN. The annual meeting o£ the congregation of Epsom Presbyterian Church was held last night, the Rev. J. W. McKenzie presiding. The report of the Kirk Session showed the communion roll as 294, "29 new members having joined during the year and 15 retired through leaving the district. The various organisations of the Church had been active during the year. The Women's Missionary Union increased its membership to 61, and raised the full allocation for budget purposes. Excellent work and interest were shown among the youth classes and Sunday school, the choir and other departments. Financially the year had been successful. The year started with a credit balance of £5 10/1% :>"d as an odd coincidence closed with a credit of exactly the same amount. The total collected for all purposes was £1151. All the retiring officers but one were re-elected for the incoming year and additions to the board of managers elected wcro Captain H. H. Sergeant and Messrs. E. Connor and Campbell. During the evening a presentation of a gold-mounted pen and pencil was made to Mr. John Donald, in appreciation of his able services as honorary treasurer for many years. j
MOUNT EDEN PRESBYTERIAN.
The annual meeting of the Mount Eden Presbyterian Church was held last evening, presided over by Rev. E. J. Tipler, B.A. A large number of members attended. The report for the year showed that marked progress in all department? of the Church's activities had been made. The finances at times had caused a little anxiety, but the year ended with a small debit balance, whilst the allocation by the General Assembly for missions and other purposes connected with service for others was exceeded. An atmosphere of thankfulness for the results of the past year was referred to by various speakers and members are facing the new year with greater confidence that a more prosperous era has been entered upon. Mr. Tipkr feelingly referred to the recent death of the Rev. Wm. Mawson, the foreign mission secretary of the Presbyterian Church. Mention was made of the departure from the Mount Eden district of Rev. W. J. and Mrs. Conirie, who had removed to Papakura. Two of the retiring managers, Messrs. R. Lowry and A. M. Rosie, were reelected, and Mr. L. K. McGregor was appointed to the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr. J. T. R. Oliver, who did not seek re-election. After the business of the evening terminated community singing was conducted by Mr. E. M. Edgar, organist of the Church.
