MANAGER'S REPORT. Mahaldpawa.—Report for week ended July 2i. The arch-drive from the south end of No. 2 blocking strip having been graded to form the leading face was continued in a south-easterly directio* and hit the wall, as anri-cipated, at 14ft. This eastern wall is still well defined and waterworn and appears to be running due south' along the 110 ft west-co-orataate. After striking this wall we opened out on the: south side of the drive and commenced driving south along the wall. After proceeding only a few feet the bottom started to fall away and has alr«idy gone down 2ft, and Is still going down. The appearance of the wash has also changed for the better, so that indications are quite promising. The soutli-enst drive was cos tinned for 15ft, when it joined up with the north blocking strip. We now hare a straight through run from the face to the Golden Gate shaft, aad are in a position to handle quickly and cheaply all the wash from as many faces as we can srarf when the new gutter is properly opened tip.
