BIRKENHEAD LANDING.
The Birkenhead vehicular landing stage, which has been overhauled at the Harbour Board's slipway at Freeman's Bay, was reopened for traffic yesterday. The pontoon was towed across the harbour early this week, and the connecting bridge, weighing about 50 tons, was carried across by the Auckland Harbour Board's floating crane Mahua. The bridge and pontoon were theii coupled together.
