COWS FOUND DEAD.
FARMER'S SERIOUS LOSS. (By Telegrapli.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKT, this day. Following eatiiif? mangolds, which are. believed to have been frosted, eight dairy cows belonging to Mr. CI. J. Gaskill. of Waioeka. OpotiKi. were found dead. Mr. Gaskill fed 24 cows on the mangolds and then turned them out. Twenty-four hours later he discovered eight of the animals lying dead. Mr. Gaskill came to the conclusion that death was caused through eating the mangolds, «tnd he has communicated the facts to che Department of Agriculture in Wellington for further advice.
